The power of a tea moment
About five years ago I had a habit of going to a café to have a little me time. Sometimes I would read a book or do some computer work while sipping a cup of tea or coffee. But other times I would just go to be with my thoughts. Back then, I had plenty of time and it was one of the things I really enjoyed doing in my free time.
I could spend hours lost in my thoughts, but what I didn’t know was how much it positively contributed for my spirit well-being. 3 years ago when I started working full-time and I didn’t have much free time to spend on things like that, I then realized ho much I missed those moments. In late 2018 I was surprised by the exhausted state I was in.
After two years of much running and tension I realized that I was super stressed out. There was almost no time just for me. If I wasn’t working, I was busy with the kids or my housekeeper responsibilities. It’s amazing how we moms put ourselves in the background when things get tight. We forget that we need to take care of our physical and mental health first. Otherwise everything else does not work as it should be.
Late last year I promised myself that by 2019 it would be different. I admit that I don’t always do it, but once or twice a month I always try to go to a café to spend some time with myself as I used to. No book, no computer just me, my thoughts and a cup of tea. Today I went to this wonderful café in the center of Rotterdam. I had never been there before. It is beautiful café and super cozy. The service is amazing.
